Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to be on a show to use CrewChat?
A: Yes. In order to use CrewChat you will need to be on an active production that has set-up CrewChat.
Q: Who has access to the CrewChat?
A: Only those who have access to the show's traditional crew list will have access to the CrewChat. Information from crew lists is never shared with anyone outside of the show's crew.
Q: Does the studio need to approve this?
A: Impact takes every precaution to ensure the data stored in CrewChat is safe and private. Only members of the crew will have access to CrewChat. The information is never shared outside of the show's crew. In the same way a crew or department might use other messaging apps, like WhatsApp, CrewChat is a safe, private, and easy way to communicate on set.
Q: What happens after I provide my crew list?
A: Once we get the crew list, the Impact team will digitize it and make it interactive by linking existing Impact profiles to the production's CrewChat. For those that do not have an Impact profile, Impact will create a profile for them that they can take ownership of, for free, by claiming.
Q: What happens if someone I message isn't using CrewChat?
A: If you send a message to someone who is not using CrewChat they will receive an email with your message, and an invite to join the CrewChat. The non-user can also respond to the email sent and it will come back to you, the sender, as an in-app message.
